Work with store Margins

 

Use this task to view and adjust the margins set up for an individual store.

A margin is the difference between the distributor's Price to Retailer (PTR) and the retailer's Price to Consumer (PTC), expressed as a percentage. Margins are assigned to product categories within a store, but can be overridden for individual UPCs within each category as needed.

Enter margins using numbers from 0 to 100. For example, enter 27% as 27.

  1. Click the Margins link beside the store.

The margins defined for each product category display.

If this is a new store, the margin quantities are filled with those assigned to another store in the same state.  

  1. Make changes as desired.

To keep the default "new store" margins, without making changes, simply click Save. (You must click Save to apply these defaults.  "Notification!  New margins created." displays as a reminder.)

To change margins for entire categories, make the changes and click Save.

To override a category margin for one or more UPCs:

      1. Click the Category. Enter the different Margin beside the desired UPC. (Margins left blank use the default category margin on the previous screen.)  Repeat as needed.

      2. Click OK and then Save. (The override will not apply if you click OK only.)

Note: Margin changes trigger a new VMP export.
