Activate a promotion

Follow these steps to activate a New promotion.  This method is an alternative from activating the promotion from the Express Deal Entry Menu.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All deals must be entered before activating a promotion. Deals can NOT be added after a promotion has been activated.

 

To Activate from the Promotion Selection window

This method is used when activating a promotion that was previously set up.

From the main Item & Cost window:

  1. Click Manage Promotions.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Find to display the NEW promotion you want to activate.

  3. Select the NEW promotion.

  4. Click Check for Completeness to ensure the promotion is complete.  Correct any errors that display.

  5. Select ACTIVATED from the Change Status To bar.

  6. Click Change Status To. You are prompted Are you sure.....?  

  7. Review and print the promotion. (Use your browser's print button.)

  8. Click Yes to confirm or No to cancel.

If desired, click Notify Subscribers to send immediate e-mail notifications to the promotion recipients.  Otherwise, they will be notified according to their default schedule.

Notes:

  • If you’re prompted that costs are missing for a deal item, see Missing Regular Costs for Promotion errors.

  • New deals cannot be added after a promotion is activated.  If you select No, be sure to Activate the promotion later.
