Overview - Reports

Item & Cost offers a variety of reports to meet your business needs. Reports can be displayed in a window on your computer, e-mailed to you as an attachment, or downloaded directly to your hard drive.  Reports provide snapshots of your item and price data.  You can report on past, current, and future information, and select just the retailers, cost zones, or promotions that you need.

Cost Reports

A Cost Report lists information about individual items, including the item number, UPC, description, and the item cost. The report is based on specific cost zones and/or retail zones. Cost reports are designed for your company’s internal use, and are not normally sent to subscribers.  Sample.

Download

Although most reports are delivered to you as an e-mail attachment, options are available to hold your report for manual downloading (see below).  This function is used to download a report directly to your computer’s hard drive using File Registry.

How to receive your reports (Delivery Types)

Reports can be delivered to you in three ways:

E-mail Attachment

The report is sent to you as an e-mail attachment.

E-mail Notification

You can be notified by e-mail that the report has been placed on our File Registry system for you to download.

File Registry

The report can simply be held in File Registry for later downloading, without an e-mail notification. You must manually check to see if the report file has generated. Once it is complete, you can download it.

Many people choose e-mail attachment as the most convenient way to receive their reports.

Report formats

You can select the output format of your reports. The options available are comma separated (CSV) or RTF (Rich Text Format).

Selecting comma separated will generate a report you can open in a spreadsheet.

RTF reports are opened with word processing software.

Some reports can be displayed in your window by clicking a Display link. This option is not available for all reports.
