Vertical Supply Chain   [REWRITE.  THIS IS FROM YAHOO ANSWERS]  When one company owns different aspects of providing the end product to the customer. For example, Tyson Chicken makes TV dinners. They own the manufacturing plant that puts the chicken in the box and sells them to the grocery store. Say that they also own a farming company that grows the chickens and also a trucking company that ships the chicken from the farm to the plant for processing.........this is a vertical supply chain.
