Uploading Files

You can upload files to keep your data current in Prescient. This is one method of performing "maintenance," and is described below.

 

IMPORTANT Notes:  

 

Follow these steps to upload a file.

 

From any Item & Cost, Item Movement, or Inventory & Shrink window:

  1. Click Upload (top of screen).

  2. Select the Content & Format Type.  

Note:  This is defaulted to the option you most commonly use.  Contact Prescient Client Support if your default should be changed.

  1. Enter the File to Send:

    • Enter the path and filename.

OR

    • Click Browse, select the file, and click Open.

  1. Click File Upload.

Your file undergoes basic validation to ensure headers, trailers, or other necessary format/content elements are in place.  

A confirmation message appears when the file has transferred.  If an error displays, correct your file and resubmit it.

Note:  The tracking information displayed for a successful upload lists your business unit ID (BUID) and the request number.  For example, 1140-71736.
