You can upload files to keep your data current in Prescient. This is one method of performing "maintenance," and is described below.
IMPORTANT Notes:
The file must be ready to upload, and you must know where the file is located on your computer.
The file name CANNOT exceed 30 characters in length. This includes the file extension.
File names should not contain spaces. (This is critical for files that will be "translated.") Underscores should be used instead. For example, sales_JULY_18_2006.csv.
It is critical that you select the correct Content & Format Type. A default format was selected for your company during implementation.
If the format type selected does not match the format of the uploaded file, the file will be rejected and no processing will occur.
For VDE files, the Prescient Business Unit ID (BUID) in the HIUVDE header must match or be a child of the BUID of the user performing the upload.
Follow these steps to upload a file.

From any Item & Cost, Item Movement, or Inventory & Shrink window:
Note: This is defaulted to the option you most commonly use. Contact Prescient Client Support if your default should be changed.
OR
Your file undergoes basic validation to ensure headers, trailers, or other necessary format/content elements are in place. A confirmation message appears when the file has transferred. If an error displays, correct your file and resubmit it. Note: The tracking information displayed for a successful upload lists your business unit ID (BUID) and the request number. For example, 1140-71736. If you have questions, please contact Prescient Client Support. _________________________________________________________________ |
