      •  Each component must have a code.

      • Each code must be unique to your syncLink account.  The same code cannot be used twice.

      • The alpha characters are automatically converted to uppercase.

      • A maximum of 10 characters is allowed.

Name

Allowance components are assigned the Name of your choice The name is used to refer to the component online and in promotion notifications sent by e-mail.

Should Sum

Each component has a Should Sum option that determines whether the component's allowance is included in the total allowance.

All Should Sum components are "summed" or added together to make up the total allowance offered to the retailer.

This is useful when a total allowance must be broken into separate components for informational purposes.

      • When updating or adding a new component, check the box to include the allowance in the total (yes).  This is the default.

      • Components included for information only should be unchecked (no).

See also, Should Sum option.

Is Restricted

Restricted components are hidden from third parties and subscribers that are set with this restriction.

Restrictions are used to allow some entities to see specific allowances, while preventing others from doing so.

It is normally used in combination with the Should Sum option.

      • If the Is Restricted field is set to Y, the component will be hidden from third parties and subscribers that are not allowed to view restricted components.

      • If the Is Restricted field is set to N, the component will be viewable by all parties.

When updating or adding a component:

      • Check the box to restrict the component (yes).

      • Un-check the box to un-restrict the component (no).  This the default.
