MillerCoors and Walmart work together to promote items across regions, states, and stores. These are generally set up by the VMP Analyst at MillerCoors Headquarters. The Manage VMP Promotions screen provides each distributor with details on the promotion's UPCs and time lines. Plus, this screen provides distributors with the ability to "lock-in" a cost (PTR) for items at select stores.
Three VMP promotion types can be viewed here:
Price Leadership Promotions
These promote specific UPCs, and guarantee the same Price-to-Consumer (PTC) to all stores included in the promotion. Pricing set up by the corporate VMP Analyst can include PTR/PTC pricing tiers. If a PTR is met, that tier's PTC is used. These promotions can cover multiple items.
Free Standing Insert Promotions
Similar to Price Leaderships, these also promotes specific UPCs, and guarantees a common Price-to-Consumer (PTC) at the included stores. The difference occurs on the retailer's end, with these promotions advertised by inserts in newspapers and other media. These promotions can cover multiple items.
Lock-In PTR
Unlike other VMP promotions, a Lock-In PTR promotion is distributor driven. It provides the means to "lock in" a Price-to-Retailer (PTR) at one or more stores. The current cost in effect within a Cost Zone is overridden for specific stores, while leaving the PTR for the remaining stores alone. Although Lock-In's are considered promotions because they override the current cost, a Lock-In can be used to either raise or lower a cost.
See Add/Update a Lock-In PTR (store cost override).
To be included in Price Leadership and Free Standing Insert promotions, a distributor's Price-to-Retailer (PTR) must be at or below a promotion's PTR Value. (PTRs are listed as "costs" in your item catalog.)
Notes:
Only Active promotions whose End Date is greater than or equal to today will display. Past promotions cannot be viewed.
This task applies to MillerCoors distributors connected with Walmart only.

See Add / Update a Lock-In PTR for more information. Delete: Click the X in the last column. This is a quick way to end a current promotion. Note: If a Lock-In PTR was set up for a UPC / Store combination not authorized to your distributorship, you won’t see the Lock-In until the UPC is authorized to you and the store and authorization-maintenance is sent to Walmart. ____________________________________________________________ |
