Add a promotion

Follow these steps to add a promotion.  

After a promotion is initially set up, one or more deals must be added and the promotion must be activated.  Click here for a graphic overview of the task.  Also see Quick Reference - Add a Promotion with an Amount Off deal and Overview - Promotions.

Follow these steps:

  1. Set up the promotion

  2. Add the Areas

  3. Add one or more deals

  4. Activate the promotion

A.

Set up the promotion

From the Item & Cost tab:

  1. Click Manage Promotions.

  2. Add Promotion is displayed on the Next Step bar.  Click Proceed.

  3. Enter the promotion Event ID (required).  Maximum of 16 characters.

  4. Enter the Effective On and Ends On dates of the promotion event (required).  

  5. If desired, enter any additional date-based event information.  The First Order Date through Performance End Date fields are optional.

  6. Enter a Description or name for the promotion (required).

  7. Using the Manage Promotion (Areas) By choices, select either Cost Zones or Subscribers (retailers).

  8. Manage Areas is displayed on the Next Step bar.  Click Save and Proceed.

B.

Add the Areas

The window that displays is based on your Cost Zones or Subscribers choice.

  1. Select (highlight) the Zones or Subscribers you want to include in the promotion.

  2. Click the > link to choose the Zones or Subscribers.

Notes on selecting Zones:

    • All regular zones are displayed by default.  To show store zones, select a Zone Type of Store, select a Retailer (if desired), and click Find.

    • If you only use one zone, or if you select a Retailer who is assigned only one zone, that zone is selected for you.  (This will not occur if other zones are already selected.)

  1. Add Deals - Express Entry is displayed on the Next Step bar. Click Save and Proceed.

Add one or more deals

At this point deals must be added to the promotion. A deal consists of the promotion items and costs being offered.

  1. Click the desired deal from the Express Deal Entry Menu.

  2. Enter the deal.  Use the links above for the steps.

  3. Click Save and Proceed.

Note: If you wish to use Deal Allowance Components and/or Third Party Notifications in your promotion, click here for the special steps.

D.

Activate the promotion

At this point, you can add another deal or Activate the promotion.  To add another deal, follow the steps above.  To activate the promotion, follow the steps below.

Activate Promotion is displayed on the Next Step bar.  

  1. Click Proceed.  You are prompted Are you sure.....?  

  2. Review and print the promotion for your records. (Use your browser's print link.)

  3. After review, click Yes to confirm the activation or click No to cancel.
